Danny Meadows-Klue’s five biggest
mistakes in blogger engagement

Danny Meadows-Klue is one of the Europe’s pioneers in online media and marketing. Here, he tells us the five biggest mistakes you can make in blogger engagement.

1. Pretending to be someone you’re not; posting as a spectator in the debate rather than a member of the brand’s team.

2. Churning out the dull formulaic press release garbage journalists have had inflicted on them for decades; it’s a waste of your time, and most bloggers are likely to be far less kind about beings spammed by this than journalists are.

3. Being stiff, boring and staid; this is a conversation so take part.

4. Not listening hard enough or long enough: conversations go both ways.

5. Expecting to control; firms have little if any control of what happens in these environments. If the mindset you have when entering is the same as the mindset for writing advertising copy or your own website materials then you are on the fast track to failure.
