In an attempt to make keeping track of legislation easier for businesses, the Government has introduced a new event in the business calendar: The Common Commencement Date.
This is scheduled to occur twice yearly, and has been introduced by the Government as the date on which new regulations will be brought in and existing ones amended. The second date will be 1 October.
As changes cover employment regulations, tax and consumer credit, all businesses should make themselves of aware of the latest updates. Mark Froud of Business Link, says, ‘Common Commencement Dates are designed to ensure that changes to business regulations are co-ordinated, giving businesses more time to plan.’
