The European Commission has released plans that would give online shoppers more rights across the borders of the 27-nation EU.
The proposals suggest a two-week cooling off period to cancel a sale and also refunds for delayed deliveries. It is hoped this strategy will encourage more of the 150 million online shoppers in the EU to do it across borders.
However the plans could face delays when they are brought before EU governments and the European Parliament next year. The number of changes to consumer rules mean that EU customers may have to wait to get the cross-border benefits.
