Small businesses have an ‘enormous part to play’, according to claims made by one celebrity environmentalist.
Penny Poyzner argues that contrary to popular belief, ‘99% of all businesses in the UK are SMEs, and they’re employing around 50 per cent of everybody in the UK, so SMEs have an enormous part to play.’
Poyzner suggests that firms save money through simple changes regarding their use of water, paper and electricity, in order to contend with escalating prices.
Research indicates that small businesses are increasingly environmentally conscious, with 79% admitting concern for energy efficiency, and a further 11% tailoring their business strategy in order to become more energy efficient, according to reports published by Envirowise.
