Ministers have pledged a £350 million aid package to help small businesses cope with the current economic crisis.
The new measures will mean more help for small businesses to re-train their staff and ensure that they can access credit and improve productivity during this time.
Skills secretary, John Denham, also pledged that the Government would push through their own payments of small firms' bills, reducing the delay from 30 to 10 days.
Mr Denham told BBC news: ‘We've got to make sure that small businesses have cash flow, so government is bringing forward the payments. We're bringing forward that to 10 days and that pushes billions of pounds out into small businesses.’
The news follows research which suggests that businesses that invest in staff training are more likely to survive a recession.
